A Nain rug is a handmade Persian rug that originates from the city of Nain, located in the province of Isfahan, Iran. Nain rugs are most often composed of high-quality wool and silk and are known for their intricate, delicate designs. The most traditional Nain rug designs feature a central medallion or a series of medallions surrounded by intricate floral designs. Colors are usually muted shades of ivory, beige, and light blue, though red and navy can also be seen. Nain rugs are made using the traditional weaving techniques of Persian rugs, and often feature a high knot-per-square-inch count. This means that these rugs are highly durable and can last for many years if properly cared for. The high quality of Nain rugs is also reflected in their price, as these rugs tend to be more expensive than other Persian rugs.
