Qashqai-Kashkuli rugs are a type of Persian rug that originates from the Qashqai people of Fars Province in southwestern Iran. The Qashqai people are a semi-nomadic tribe who have lived in this region for centuries and are known for their skilled artisans who produce handmade rugs. These rugs have a distinct style and often feature bold colors and intricate designs. Qashqai-Kashkuli rugs are known for their bright colors, geometric patterns and tribal motifs. They are characterized by the use of bright reds, blues, greens, and yellows. The geometric patterns often feature the traditional “guls” or “elephant’s foot” motifs which are believed to bring good luck and protection from evil. These rugs are also known for their use of wool which is hand-spun by the Qashqai people. Qashqai-Kashkuli rugs have a long history and have been produced for hundreds of years. In the 19th century, they were popular among the affluent classes of Persia and many were exported to Europe and America. Today, these rugs are still highly sought after for their unique designs and colors and are often used to add a touch of traditional Persian style to any room.
